‘This is happening’: Oasis drops dates for 2025 summer reunion tour 15 years after the band split

“This is it, this is happening.”
English rock band Oasis has announced a reunion tour kicking off in the U.K. next summer.
Oasis, formed in 1991 in Manchester, posted to X on Tuesday to drop the exciting news to fans who were eagerly waiting after rumours of a reunion arose early this week once the band hinted at the arrival of something on “27.08.24” (Aug. 27).
The Britpop band shared that they will embark on a tour of the U.K. and Ireland that will see the them perform multiple concerts including four at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Other venues on the tour include the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Heaton Park in Manchester, Edinburgh’s Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium and Croke Park in Dublin.
The band rose to global success in the mid-‘90s with hits like “Wonderwall,” “Champagne Supernova” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger.” Further buoyed by their bitter rivalry with the London rock outfit Blur, Oasis came to define the Britpop phenomenon, which offered a brighter alternative to the grunge music that dominated the airwave in the first half of the decade.
Both Liam and Noel Gallagher — the band’s frontman and primary songwriter, respectively — shared the tour details to their X accounts, confirming the brothers will reunite as a band.
The two were known to have an ignominious feud that caused the band to break up 15 years ago but the tour suggests they’re ready to move on.
Beyond the Gallaghers, the other original Oasis members — drummer Tony McCaroll, bassist Paul McGuigan and guitarist Paul Arthurs — are not expected to join the reunion, The Sun reported on Sunday.
There are currently no Canadian dates included on the tour.
The Europe tour dates span from July 4 to Aug. 17 and tickets go on sale this Saturday.
